GEIGER® Dual-Flow Travelling Band Screen, out-to-in flow pattern

As the last cleaning stage at water intakes, finest mesh screening is essential to protect downstream equipment such as pumps and condensers from damage caused by debris and large sediments. For decades, GEIGER® Dual-Flow Travelling Band Screens, have been operating successfully in the water intake systems of power stations, petrochemical plants and sea water desalination plants, steel works and other industrial plants all over the world. Among their outstanding features are high throughput and functional reliability.

The GEIGER® out-to-in flow pattern Dual-Flow Travelling Band Screen is installed along the water’s flow direction with the open machine side showing to the main pumps. The dirty water flows through the mesh panels on both sides of the machine, leaving it in one stream.

The coarse screenings are efficiently collected by carriers, and fine screenings sticking to the mesh panels are transported up to the collecting trough on the operating floor. Both the coarse and  fine screenings are completely cleaned by water jets from a wash water system.
Please note that the out-to-in flow pattern Travelling Band Screen may also be equipped with fish buckets to help protect aquatic life. It is EPA 316b-compliant as the best technology available for reducing impingement.
